There are 3 stages of a Personal Expatriate Family relocation to Malaysia
We will initiate communications with the family (3-4 month in advance) via email or fax to discuss standard issues relevant to their move eg. location of posting, type of property requested, Schooling Requirements, Medical, type of Permits required, Sports Facilities, Shopping, Transportation etc?
Plus any "Client Specific" requests. Must be a apartment, bungalow, with 3 rooms must have a fridge, freezer, washing machine, near a sports complex, shopping mall, etc.
After the initial discussion, we will provide a comprehensive brochure and client specific checklist to ensure we have covered all major areas. We will endeavor to ensure all works pertaining to preparing the accommodation, schooling requirements and permits are completed before the family arrives
In a normal Relocation, the expatriate family would normally have arrived before their Shipment arrives and will only come with the personal belongings and would like to personally supervise the unpacking.
When we have confirmed arrival dates and times our Company Representative will meet the incoming family at the airport drive them to their pre-arranged hotel room or accommodation, supply them with company contact details, brochures and additional information.
We will ensure a smooth transfer of items from the sea / air containers to the accommodation premises. In the event that the family has not arrived beforehand; we can arrange line-haul and unpacking services at their new place of residence (subject to formal agreements)
After you have arrived and settled in Malaysia for a few days. Our Representative will make arrangements to meet with yourself, or family and conduct a short tour of the surrounding areas (adjacent to your place of residence whether Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Ipoh etc).
We would anticipate visiting medical clinics and health centres, local and International Schools, Embassies, Consulates, Expatriate Associations, local expat Clubs, Major Shopping Malls, Recreational Facilities, Local and International Banks etc to familiarise yourselves with your surrounding area.
We can also attend to conversion of existing driving license to a local driving license; assist with car rental, opening of local banks accounts etc (there will be a nominal charge for these services)
There are numerous areas, points of interest, relevant issues that may have not been discussed; prior to the move. It is normally after a few weeks of being in a new country, that some points and or questions may need to be asked.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for further assistance, we will always be on hand to help in anyway we can.
Welcome to Malaysia
Pre-view Trip to Malaysia - Schools, Medical Housing
Preview Trip to Malaysia
Most companies allow a preview trip to the designated country, to allow relocating expatriates a chance to get an insight into expected living conditions, accommodation, schools, transportation, medical and general living arrangements within Malaysia
You will need to check with your company in advance, to confirm if a "preview trip" is allowed, or if taken, can be expensed back to the company. We can offer a half day (consisting of around 6 hours of viewing particular expatriate areas nearest your desingated location of work and residence (Refer to first stage of relocation).
We will visit places within KL and surrounding areas, i.e. expatriate associations and clubs, High Commissions, Embassies, Medical Facilities, Shopping Malls, Local and International Transportation Facilities, plus pre-scheduled visits as per initial requirements and discussions.
If School visits are required for families with children, arrangements can be made with the necessary International schools (pre selected during stage 1/2), arranging visits and or meeting with the school principles.
One of the most important factors that are in the mind(s) of the relocating expatriate is "are there sufficient International Schools" for my childrens continuing education; some families may not choose a particular posting if primary and tetiary education is not available. We will assist the incoming expatriate with a overview of the current education facilities within Malaysia (again this is normally carried out during stage 1) to ensure you have selected the right school, with the right cirriculum for you and your children.
Arrangements can be made over a two (2) day period to coordinate and if required accompany the family to visit the "pre-selected" International Schools, with meetings with principles and teachers etc,. Further Support can be provided for Families with younger children (i.e. nursery school availability). All of the above can be facilitated; and would have been covered during stage 1 of the relocation process A nominal fee will be charged for the above services.
Immigration - Work Permits, Visa's - Malaysia
Work Permits - Visa's - Malaysia - Immigration
The immigration process in Malaysia, is less straightforward in comparison with other locations. It is imperative that a team of qualified personnel are available for both advisory and submission of necessary documentation, to ensure that the process is painless and smooth. To that end, Atlas Worldwide Relocations; has set-up a complete in-house team that specifically deals with corporate and individual work permit, visa, professional and special pass applications
The range of services we offer to our corporate and individual clients are: -
The processing time and stamping of the work permit into the transferee's passport can take up to 2-4 weeks from initial application, We will ensure that the entire process is tracked, in conjunction with the company or individual concerned.
We will normally receive a letter within 10 working days, that the application is either approved or denied
As part of the service we offer, we will provide the applicant with a full briefing on the documentation required; this will be done by email and or fax; with a breakdown of documentation required, processes involved and government fees.
This ensures that the required permit is applied for well in advance, if possible, at least 5 weeks prior to arrival, that way we can be sure that the necessary permits are in place before landing in Malaysia.
